Reviewing by drawing just got so much better
Bitmap Drawings
KLASH now uses bitmaps for its drawings which is a technique commonly used in digital art and image processing software. One of the advantages of this is that it allows for great flexibility and precision in creating digital art. Artists can create detailed and complex images with complete control over every pixel in the image. This is very important for us at KLASH since we want our users to be able to perform precise feedback without setbacks.
Thanks to this switch we can now improve the platform in other ways that weren't possible before.
The Tools
Brace yourselves as KLASH have just added a ton of new tools for your toolbox, including: eraser, color picker, laser pointer, shape tools, and advanced settings with simulated pressure!
Eraser
The eraser tool allows you to easily remove unwanted lines or shapes from your drawings, making it simpler to refine and perfect your work.
Color Picker
The color picker tool enables you to select any color from an image or video. A nice little lens shows up so that you can choose a color down to the very pixel. The outer ring displays what color you are currently hovering over.
Laser pointer
A useful tool for highlighting something without having to erase the drawing manually afterwards. Everything drawn with the laser pointer fades away shortly after. The laser pointers drawing is not saved when creating markers, meaning it's best used while in a sync session.
Shape Tools
The shape tools are another welcome addition to Klash's drawing capabilities. The shape tools include arrows, lines, rectangles, and circles, which are customizable with various line thicknesses and colors to fit the user's needs.
Advanced Settings
This new feature allows users with drawing tablets to take full advantage of their device's capabilities by offering advanced settings such as pressure sensitivity, hardness and shape. With these settings, you can create more precise and nuanced drawings, improving the ability to communicate ideas visually.
What's the Big Deal?
New tools are great and all, but why is it useful?
Thanks to zooming, opacity, color picker and pressure sensitivity you're able to show colleagues exactly how you want something changed. For example, a user wanted to add a rock to this scene, so they quickly drew one to precisely show where it should be and how it should look. Try it yourself.
Sync Changes
Synced Drawings
One of the more exciting new additions introduced is the ability for you to draw simultaneously during sync sessions. This is a significant improvement for team collaboration, as it allows multiple team members to simultaneously contribute and collaborate on the same drawing or document. This can save time and improve efficiency, as you can quickly share ideas and make changes in real-time. This makes the laser pointer tool very useful for quickly highlighting areas so that everyone in the sync session can see.
Just a teaser; real-time annotations for live streaming is now very close by.
Synced File Switch
It's now possible to stay in a sync session when switching files, all users that are aboard the sync session will follow suit when you switch to a different file. This makes reviewing multiple assets much faster and effective, especially for teams with limited time to review material.
