Version management

With version management, you can stack versions to keep them organized, rearrange their order, and rename them.

Stacking versions

You can stack versions by uploading new versions to existing versions in the studio or by dragging and dropping files on top of each other in the project overview. Drag and drop is supported in both icon and list view.

Drag and drop files on top of each other by the following steps:

  1. Place the cursor on the file you want to add as a new version to the older version, and hold down the pointer to highlight it.

  2. Drag and drop the new version on top of the older version. This will highlight a plus icon on the older version, and show the text message Add to version stack.

Upload new versions in the studio by the following steps:

  1. Click on the version drop-down menu in the header of the studio, and select New version.

  1. Upload the new version of the file.

  2. Click Create version.

  3. Rearrange versions by holding down the handlebar, dragging, and dropping.

  4. Click on the three-dot menu to the right of the version to rename or delete it.

Note: Stacked versions must be of the same format, for example, video on video and image on image.

Unstacking versions

In the project, right-click on the stacked assets you want to unstack and click Manage versions. Then click on the three dots and remove them from the stack to unstack the files.

Note: A new file version gets a clean timeline and comment feed.
