Quick start guide
In this quick start guide, you will learn how to set up your account and start using the KLASH platform.
Setting up your account
Set up your account by the following steps:
Register as a user on klash.studio. If you've been invited, use that link to register instead.
Fill in the requested information.
Click on Sign up.
Creating a project
Projects are where your files and folders exist.
To create a project in a team, you need a Pro, Team, or Enterprise account on KLASH, and the Admin or Owner role. Learn more about Roles and permissions.
Create a project within a team by the following steps:
Navigate to the left side menu, and click on a Team.
Click New project.
Enter a project name, and click Create.
Note: As an Enterprise user, you need to be invited into teams to be able to create projects. If teams do not appear in your left-side menu, then you need to contact your administrator and ask them to invite you.
Uploading files and folders
After creating your project, you’ll want to upload all your relevant files and folders. Upload your files through the browser, or drag and drop from your desktop. Any folder structure will remain intact.
To upload files using browser upload or drag and drop:
Navigate to the project folder where you want to upload the files.
Click New file and select the files from your computer, or drag and drop the files straight into the project.
Click on the top-left upload icon in the header to see the upload speed, percentage completion rate, and time remaining.
Learn more about Uploading methods.

Note: Your project role and permission decide what features are available for your user. Read more about Roles and permissions.
Inviting project members
To invite a project member
Click on the project menu in the left column, and then the Members.
Enter the person’s email address and select a role.
Click Invite. The recipient will get an email invite.
Note: You need to be a project admin to invite project members and manage roles and permissions. If you invite someone, that person will only have access to that project. When you invite someone as a team member, that person will have access to all projects belonging to the team. A common setup is inviting co-workers as team members, and subcontractors and customers as project members.
Creating share links for external users
To send a share link to external users:
Right-click on the file or folder you want to share in the project bin, and click Share. You can also share the complete project by clicking on the project name in the header.
Select the security level, enable or disable commenting and downloading of files, add a personal message (optional), and add the recipients' email addresses and mobile phone numbers if enabling Email 2FA or Phone 2FA. You can skip the last step and instead copy and paste the URL.
Click on the Advanced tab to set time windows, limit the number of views, and watermarking.
Click Create.
Learn more about Sharing files, folders, and projects.
Note: Sharing a project gives the recipient access to all the files and folders in that project, a folder-only access to the files within that folder, and a single file only to that file. If you don’t want to give access to all the files in the project, you can copy or move files into a folder within the project, and use the Share feature.
FAQ
How do I know if I have a user account, or have received a share link?
If you are requested to sign in using email and password through the Sign in portal https://app.klash.studio/account/login/ or register on klash.studio, then you have a user account. Otherwise, you are the recipient of a share link. Share links can still require you to enter a password, email 2FA, or mobile 2FA to access the link.
I don't know my password and/or username. What should I do?
If you don’t know your password, navigate to the login screen, click Forgot password, and follow the instructions in the email sent to you. If you can’t see the email, check spam.
If you don’t know your username, enter the email address that you think was used for registering on KLASH, and click Forgot password. If they receive an email with instructions on how to reset your password, then that email address is associated with your user account on KLASH.
If you’re still having trouble signing in, contact your admin or the KLASH support at https://klash.studio/contact.
