Commenting, markers, and filtering

With KLASH, you can write comments, add markers in a timeline, filter comments to find the comments you are looking for, and import markers into your editing tool.

Commenting and markers

You can comment and add markers on a file. A marker is a comment with a timecode in the timeline, also referred to as a time-stamped comment. Comment by the following steps:

  1. Open a file in the studio.

  2. Navigate to the right side panel, and click on the text input field.

  3. Enable or disable markers by checking or unchecking the time box right below the text input field. To annotate, first make sure markers are enabled, then navigate to the left side panel of the studio, select the preferred drawing tool, and draw on top of the screen.

  4. Write your comment. You can use @ to mention team members, and upload attachments with your comments.

  5. Click Send. With markers enabled, a screenshot from the screen is added to your comment. Navigate to the cogwheel and disable Capture Screen to turn it off.

  6. Click Reply to reply to some other team member's comment. You can also react with emojis.

  7. Resolve comments by clicking on the check mark in the upper right corner of the comment.

Annotation tools are cursor, drawer, eraser, color picker, text, shapes (arrow, line, rectangle, and circle), laser pointer, zoom, hand, range (set marker in and out times), undo and redo, and clear drawing.

Pause when typing, Capture thumbnail, Voice input and Voice language can be found under the cogwheel in the bottom right corner.

Spanned markers

Markers can have ranges in the timeline, also referred to as spanned markers.

  1. Use the ‘set in time’ and ‘set out time’ icons in the left side panel.

  2. Adjust the range by dragging and dropping the in and out markers in the timeline.

  3. Click Esc on your keyboard to exit the range.

Filtering comments

Filter comments by date, author, timestamp, resolved and unresolved, color, and version by the following steps:

  1. In the comment panel, click on the Filter comments icon.

  2. Select your filter, and close the window.

  3. Click on the Filter comments icon and Reset to clear your settings.
