New synchronization features for projects

See which sync rooms are active within a project or see which users are active and where they are. You can also see when someone was last active in the project. This creates new opportunities for interactivity and collaboration, as you can see what's going on, join active rooms, or find that review session you might be late for without having to stumble through files.

Streamline work across VFX and post production. The playhead in the timeline will be synchronized between person A, B and C, and lets anyone in the team seamlessly take over the control. You can even synchronize the whole project bin to review and approve a larger number of files together in real-time.

Support for 3D

Now there is a beta version of a proprietary 3D model viewer on KLASH. Creating new possibilities for collaboration around VFX and level design in game development. So far, the beta version is restricted to GLB models but the plan is to support more formats going forward.

Merge files in tree view

You can now drag and drop files on top of each other in the tree view to merge them into stacked versions. This feature existed in the regular grid view and we made sure to bring it to the tree view as well.

Proxy settings per project

Did you know that around 80 percent of the variable costs for media services in the cloud are typically related to transcoding costs? For raw files to be playable online, you typically need proxies. Users often upload files that are already in a playable format while media services still transcode the files, resulting in unnecessary double work and higher environmental impact. A typical workflow is that the original file transcodes into 1080p, 720p, 480p, and 360p.

The energy consumption in data centers can have a quite heavy impact on the environment. Eliminating unnecessary proxies can have a positive environmental impact, while at the same time getting you a lower price on media services.

That’s why you can now upload files on KLASH using Fast track for MP4 and at the same time create a custom workflow for how your other formats and codecs should be managed.

Configure how proxy videos are generated in each project. If you frequently upload files that are already playable in original quality, such as MP4 files, you can turn off HD and SD proxies. We will make sure to create a dynamic viewable copy in the event that you upload an unplayable format, to ensure proper playback.
