Labels & Metadata

Labels and metadata can be used to help you organize files in what could otherwise be a large mess. You can filter and search on labels and metadata to find specific files in your projects.

Adding labels and metadata is easy, just follow these quick steps:

  1. Select your files

  2. Make sure the right side menu is opened, by right-clicking on the files

  3. Add labels and metadata

To create a new label simply write what you want the label to be named and click on enter or on the label, marked below in green. You can add that label and add metadata to it. For example, date.

Import metadata from XML files

When you have a lot of files to upload, it can be a big hazard to set all the labels and the connected metadata to all those files. This is why you have the option in KLASH to import all of your corresponding labels and metadata into KLASH in one go.

Example XML format for KLASH import: Example_XML_KLASH.pdf

Simply upload the XML and right-click on it. You’ll see an option called “Import as metadata”.

This will bring up a new panel that will show you all the files that got imported metadata.

Close the window and select a file. Now you will see the imported metadata for that file in the details panel.

Search and filter on Labels and Metadata

When the metadata and labels are put in place, you will be able to search and filter on them. Click on ‘Search’ in the left corner and filer or search on your labels and metadata.
