Jira integration

Note: The Jira integration is for enterprise clients only and you need to have admin access to manage integrations.

To get started with the Jira integration, head over to Company > Settings > Integrations

Click on Jira > Connect

Depending on what type of storage you have regarding Jira you can either set up your Jira with Cloud or Data Center. If you don’t know then turn to someone within your organization.

How to connect Jira with Cloud

When clicking on Cloud you will be redirected to your Atlassian/Jira page where you follow the instructions there and when that is done you have connected your Jira to KLASH. There should be the text ‘Connected’ to successfully indicating that you are connected to Jira within KLASH.

How to connect Jira with Data Center

Connecting Jira to KLASH by data center is a bit trickier which is why we have added a link to an Atlassian page that goes through how this can be done. When that is done it should say ‘Connected’ by the Jira logo.

How to create Jira issues from KLASH

To create a new Jira issue in KLASH, go to the Studio and write a comment, then click on the Jira icon on that comment and it will create a new Jira issue where you can enter a description, assign people to it, labels, and dates.

How to link a file/folder to an existing Jira issue

In projects and in folders and with files you can connect them to a specific Jira issue. By right-clicking on a folder or a file and scrolling down to Integrations, you can connect them to an already existing issue. Statuses will be synced between KLASH and Jira, which means that if you make updates on KLASH it updates on Jira as well and vice versa.

Jira settings on KLASH

Admins and owners can alternate settings when it come to Jira. By going into Company Setting > Integrations > Jira you can add webhooks, folder policies and check which fileds are supported.

Folder Policy

Here you can sync Jira issues to company folder policies. When a folder is linked to a Jira issue it will automatically apply folder policies according to the rules below. You can do the following:

  • Choose which type of Jira issues that can be used as an option, for example, task, bug and epic

  • Create a policy where you can restrict non-admins from creating subfolders or prevent uploading or moving files. Then, choose the folder you want to restrict, navigate to its policies by right-clicking, and enable the desired policy.

Note: This does not apply to you if you are an admin or the owner of the project, though a warning will still appear.

Webhooks

Webhooks provide a seamless way to synchronise Jira statuses with KLASH. When a Jira issue, linked to an item in KLASH, changes its status to one of the predefined statuses, all items linked to that Jira issue in KLASH will automatically update their statuses accordingly. This integration ensures that the status of linked items remains consistent across both platforms.
